Production Crew Member

Access Simplified is looking for individuals to join and be an integral part of the film production process, primarily working to create appealing and client-specific content. The ideal candidate for this position must be a strong team player with the ability to work independently, use critical thinking skills and be open to feedback as part of the evolving production process. We invite applications from individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing. All candidates must have the ability to communicate fluently using ASL.

We are currently seeking the following Production Crew Members:
– Camera Operator
– Teleprompter
– Quality Assurance
– Makeup and Hair Specialist

Primary responsibilities of the Production Crew include:
(Some specific responsibilities may be given to specific production crew members)
– Understand and follow the Scope of Work for each project
– Follow the projects script, outline, or screenplay
– Organize film shoots with project scheduler to ensure goals, expectations and timing of each project is met
– Ensure studio sets are prepared for each video shoot

  • Clean and prep camera and other equipment
  • Sanitize and prep makeup and hair tools
  • Prep and stock green room
  • Prep production files, translation gloss, videos and other materials

– During the film session, ensure final product meets a high level of quality and expectations

  • Use and store client files appropriately and securely
  • Attentively watch for and consult with the Language Coach regarding any issue with the quality of accuracy, speed, overall footage, etc
  • Work with staff, talent and others in a professional manner

– After the film session, ensure footage and other necessary production materials are delivered to the post-production team
– Provide and receive constructive feedback

Minimum qualifications:
– High School diploma or GED equivalent
– Proficient with basic computer functions and ability to utilize software, scripts and other tools appropriately
– Computer skills: Mac OS, Google apps
– Open to feedback
– Responsible and reliable
– Good work ethics
– Excellent communication skills
– Ability to pass a background check
– Appreciation, or willingness to learn and integrate, the communication and cultural needs and nuances of the Deaf community

Preferred qualifications:
– Prior production, post-production and/or translation experience
– Deep understanding and love of Deaf Culture
– Fluent in ASL

Working conditions:
– The job operates in a professional office environment
– This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, webcams, videophones
– Ability to work full-time or part-time
