Access Simplified is looking for individuals to join and be an integral part of the video editing process, primarily working with the production team to create appealing and client specific content. The ideal candidate for this position must be a strong team player with the ability to work independently, use critical thinking skills and be open to feedback as part of the evolving video process. This individual can be deaf, hard of hearing, or hearing with the ability to communicate fluently using ASL.

Primary responsibilities include:
– Understand and follow the Scope of Work for each project
– Set up editing libraries in editing software
– Follow the projects script, outline, or screenplay
– Edit videos from raw footage (chroma key and on-site footage)
    • Ability to edit movement, speed, placement, background, etc
    • Add and manipulate graphics as necessary
    • Improve and correct lighting, color, and faulty footage
    • Transfer, upload, render video content with specified specs
– Work closely with editing supervisor to present a final product that accomplishes the clients vision and scope of work
– Monitor size of storage drive to ensure it meets project needs
– Provide quality assurance checks before submitting to supervisor / client
– Complete a project wrapup and file archival process

Minimum qualifications:
– High School diploma or GED equivalent
– Proficient with basic computer functions and ability to utilize software, scripts and other tools appropriately
– Computer skills: Mac OS, Google apps, basic storage/server knowledge
– Editing Software: Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve
– Open to feedback
– Responsible and reliable
– Good work ethics
– Excellent communication skills
– Ability to pass a background check
– Willing to learn ASL (and commit to learning)
– Appreciation, or willingness to learn and integrate, the communication and cultural needs and nuances of the Deaf community

Preferred qualifications:
– Deep understanding and love of Deaf Culture
– Fluent in ASL
– Prior video editing and production experience

Working conditions:
– The job operates in a professional office environment
– This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, webcams, videophones
– Ability to work full-time or part-time
